Scanny is designed to be private by default. The short version: Scanny does not collect, store, or transmit any of your data. Everything you scan stays on your device.
None. Scanny has no user accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no servers. We do not collect personal information, usage data, device identifiers, or location. We never see your documents.
Text recognition (OCR), cropping, image processing, and PDF creation all run locally on your iPhone or iPad using Apple's on-device frameworks. None of this content is uploaded anywhere.
Your scans and the PDFs you create are stored only on your device, inside the app. They are removed when you delete a scan or delete the app. If you have iCloud Backup enabled for your device, your scans may be included in your own encrypted Apple backup, this is handled by Apple, not by Scanny.
When you tap Share, the PDF is handed to the destination you pick (for example AirDrop, Files, Mail, or Messages). What happens after that is governed by that service or recipient, not by Scanny.
Scanny includes no third-party SDKs, advertising networks, trackers, or analytics. No data is shared with anyone because no data is collected.
Scanny does not require an internet connection and does not send your scans or any other information over the network.
Scanny does not collect data from anyone, including children, and contains no ads or external links.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this same location with a new effective date.
