Privacy Policy

Ruler App is a macOS utility developed by Mathieu Rancourt. This page explains how the app handles your information.

Short version

Ruler App collects nothing, sends nothing, and never connects to the internet.

What’s stored on your Mac

The app stores one number per display — your calibration value (points per millimeter) — in the standard macOS user defaults database, keyed by each display’s local UUID. This information:

• Stays on your Mac. It is never transmitted anywhere.
• Can be cleared by clicking Use detected size in the Calibrate panel, or by uninstalling the app.

Network access

Ruler App does not make any network requests. It contains no analytics, no telemetry, no advertising, and no third-party SDKs. The app runs inside the macOS App Sandbox with no network entitlements.

Children

Ruler App is suitable for all ages and does not knowingly collect data from anyone.

Changes to this policy

If the privacy practices ever change, this page will be updated and the change will be noted in the app’s release notes.
